TQ 3079 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER PARLIAMENT STREET, SWl 92/16 (east side) 14.6.83 No 54 G.V. II Offices. 1898, by Alfred Williams. Red brick and Portland stone, slate roof. Norman Shaw influenced, eclectic Baroque and Flemish Renaissance design. 4 storeys and attic. 5 bays wide with stone gabled left hand pavilion and right hand stone corbelled turret. Granite pilastered ground floor with off centre door under archivolt arch. Upper floors between turret and pavilion have elaborated Gibbs surround windows; mullioned-transomed turret windows and aediculed windows to pavilion which is finished off with Norman Shaw-like finialed pediment gable. String courses and deep cornice, stone dormers over centre; prominent stone dressed chimney stacks.
